Ok just a quick update on my progress. Went to the doctors on 5/17 and it turns out I could not get my first fill because if the irritation around my port incision. I still had a lot of inflammation around my port which would have made it difficult to give me the fill. They have me on some heavy duty antibiotics (Keflex) 4 times a day to rush the process. Taking that along with the usual (Centrum, Hydrochlorothiazide, Folic Acid, Vitamin D, and Potassium) I go back in 2 weeks and get a check up to see when I can get my restriction.
My primary care doctor wants me to get an abdominal sonogram because when they did blood work last time my LFT's were elevated. So I have to do that before I go back for a check up with them.
So anyway as of the last weigh in I was down 35.5 lbs and I took my measurements this morning and I am down 18.5 inches over all. I am retaining a lot of fluids this week so I'm actually looking forward to my next weigh in in 2 weeks. Down one pants size and most of my clothes are starting to fall off of me. Things are going, just wish it was going a little bit quicker. Gonna start figuring out some exercise stuff to do daily, try to drop some extra lbs. Till then....

Week 3
I went to my primary care doctor today to have my blood work done again today. I am down another 4 lbs in a week which now brings my grand total to 31 lbs. BMI is down 5 points already so that's really good news. I started my full liquids and working in "mushies" I have a real strong feeling that I am going to have a hard time with solid foods. I already feel almost guilty eating mushy foods. I can't imagine how the solid food is going to mess with my head.
I have my first fill coming up on May 17th. I want to loose an additional 12 lbs by that appointment. I'm thinking that I'm going to stick as close to the liquid diet as I can until my fill day. Then I will be on liquids for an additional few days because I'm told the fills can make the stomach swell. I am feeling hungrier throughout the day now but it's nothing unmanageable. Usually a bottle of water or a protein shake takes care of the minimal hunger.
As far as pain is concerned there isn't much left except for in my back but that too is slowly subsiding now that I am able to sleep on my sides. My incisions have been crazy itchy but I'm sure that's because I am healing now. Still getting bruises in certain places but that in time will stop as well. I do have some pain with my top incision, almost like a pulled muscle.
I'm going to run it by my doctor but I would really like to start exercising soon. I know they said 4 weeks but I think that as long as I don't push myself to hard I'll be ok. Anything to get this show on the road even more. If I plan on making my 12 lbs by my fill date I'm going to have to do something soon.
Haven't been quite as social on the lap band forum as I would usually be. I'm loving the knowledge I am getting first hand from these people but I can't really stand the petty BS. I am extremely thankful for a few people on the sit though. I do still remain in contact with most of them almost daily. I think once my car is operational again I am going to start going once a month to the lap band support group in Chester. A friend of mine had asked if I would start going with him and I think it would be beneficial for both of us to go.
Anyway I will update again once I go for my fill or if anything significant happens before then. Till then....
